Time Magazine once named Fayetteville "America's Most Pro-Military Town".  With the city's close proximity to Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base, it does have a large military population, but it is the admiration,  respect, and dedication the community has for the people serving in our armed forces that makes Fayetteville shine.

Fayetteville has a rich history and is loaded with historical sites and information that includes early Native Americans who first lived in the area, political and patriotic battles, history of slavery and the culture and contributions African Americans made in the area, and Fayetteville's growth.

Education, art, culture, entertainment, and sports, rank high on the list of things happening in the city.  Visitors can enjoy seven museums, various entertainment venues, several  higher-learning institiutions, excellent golf, shopping, night life, and  casual-to-fine dining in Fayetteville's Historic Downtown and the greater city area.
